The BR-500 is a Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) developed by Furuno, designed to enhance the safety of vessel operations by ensuring the officer on watch remains alert and capable of performing their duties. The system continuously monitors bridge activity and automatically triggers alarms if no operational activity is detected within a preset period, thereby helping to prevent accidents caused by inattentiveness or incapacitation.
